Cannabidiol or CBD is the most prevalent naturally occurring compound, known as a phytocannabinoid, found in the cannabis plant.  CBD has been shown to have profound anti-inflammatory and anti-anxiety properties without the psychoactive “high”.  CBD has also been shown to have antioxidant and neuroprotective properties which suggests potential treatments for neurological disorders.  And, while CBD is one of the most prominent compounds, it is only one of over a hundred phytocannabinoids within the plant that have therapeutic benefits.
